ABSTRACT
Within the framework of the government programme against crime ,corruption and terrorism the project will assist the government of Kenya in its effort to prevent , detect and fight crimes and promote integrity , transparency, accountability and the rule of law within Kenyan boundaries these project is intended to provide institution building and direct support of the Government of Kenya through ;carrying out country assessment of three crime situations and anti-corruption measures support inn preparation of a national anti- corruption strategy and action plan to be followed by a donor meeting to seek coordinated international assistance ;enhance capacity for prevention , investigation and prosecution of corruption in selected departments of public sectors ; assist specialized investigation and prosecutorial anti-structure of the criminal justice systems; enhancement of community policing and putting measures to reduce and stop radicalization of Kenya young population . This project also assess social factors that cause crimes (terrorism, corruption ) in Kenya .It found out that the social causes of terrorism, corruption and crimes in Kenya are as a result of complex networks of intertwined problems emanating from four main areas ;the social – economic conditions of Kenya , the politics of resource allocations and access, social cultural factors , and , the countries poor and waiting security system .The primary data was collected from recorded respondents as well as key informants through interviews and questionnaires while secondary data was obtained from various published book as well as articles from various scholarly journals . the study recommends that the Kenyan state should embrace a proactive role in its overall counter crime strategy and in order to improve the country efficiency in law enforcement as well as in enhancing gathering the countries security agencies should be specially trained in counter crimes techniques , policing best practices and public relation in order to inculcate as high degree of professionalism when dealing with public , in addition , the country’s social –economic conditions needs to be addressed so as to avert economic desperation being breeding ground for all crime these study also call for increased police –civilian cooperation as well as a citizen security directed and the socialization of the populace into effective security grouping. It also recommends a regional approach, synchronized activities among counties, countries’ and institutions as well as intelligences |
