dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to determine the contribution of boda bodabusiness in urban development, a case study of Narok town. Primary data was obtained from questionnaire. The sample size was established to be 61 out of the target population of 153. The objectives of the study were: (I) To determine the contribution ofboda boda as a business in urban development a case study of Narok town; (ii) To examine the contribution of boda bodaas a business in poverty alleviation in Narok town; and (iii) To investigate the spatial distribution patterns of boda bodas in Narok town East. Data was analyzed using SPSS software and then the results presented using frequency tables. The study also found out those key activities which had come up as result of boda boda business hence leading to generation of gainful employment and hence alleviating poverty in Narok town. The study recommended that the county government should rehabilitate the roads and construct motorcycle lanes particularly in Narok town. It should also train, retrain and emphasize on best practices on boda boda operations. The government should establish well updated and accurate data base on boda boda activities for their sustainability. en_US
