dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT The purpose this research was to study the socio-economic factors influencing the education performance of pupils in primary schools in Narok North sub-county. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, five research objectives were selected and they were ; to find out how the availability of teaching resources and school equipment contribute to the performance of students, to determine how parent’s or guardian’s income and employment affect the academic achievement of a child, to find out how the educational level of the parent affects the child’s learning process ,to determine how a parent’s occupation affects the education of the child and to find out how societal beliefs, attitude and traditions affect the child’s learning process. The researcher used the theory of Educational Productivity by Walberg in explaining the concept in the research topic. The research design used was descriptive research design and the study area was Narok North Sub-County. The total target population was 1400 which consisted of 800 pupils and 600 teachers while sample size was 10 % of the total population which is 140 respondents which consisted of 80 students and 60 teachers . The data collection method used was questionnaires that had close ended questions. The validity of the research design and data collection instruments was checked by the recommended supervisor. Data was then presented in frequency tables and pie charts. en_US
