Abstract:
Health and Safety is a vital part of every organization especially in the agricultural sector. Flower farming needs to put a lot of emphasis in Health and Safety their day to day activities. Workers in flower farms in Naivasha are exposed to danger since they are exposed to pesticides being used in the flower farms and they also get injured from the machines they are using. This study sought to establish factors affecting implementation of Health and Safety programs in flower farms based in Naivasha. The study was descriptive in nature and qualitative techniques were used. The targeted population was 80 from the five flower farms in Naivasha and they were heterogeneous . The study employed stratified random sampling techniques. The sample size was 80.
The data was collected through self-administered questionnaires. The data entry storage and storage were done with the aid of Scientific Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) .Tables and bar graphs were appropriately used to present data that was collected for ease of understanding and analysis. Pearson Chi-square t test and ANOVA were also used to analyse data. From the findings, conclusion and recommendations were made. This study found a helpful knowledge related to implementation of Health and Safety programs at work place.
