dc.description.abstract Flexible Work Arrangements is the study under investigation. To get a clear view of the constituents of flexible work arrangements, the study focused on four or five star hotel tourism and hospitality facilities in Nairobi County to reveal the various types of flexible work arrangements practiced by the employees within these particular tourism establishments. Therefore, the core purpose of the study was to determine the impacts of flexible work arrangements on employee performance in this specific tourism and hospitality facilities in Nairobi County. The information gathered from the study will play a vital role in responding to some of the discrepancies in the field of tourism, specifically those resulting from the absence or presence of flexible work arrangements within tourism and hospitality establishments. Therefore, the significances of the study are vast and not limited to; promotion of the application of flexible work arrangements in Kenya as a way of impacting on employee performance, responding to the contemporary issues of the 21st Century tourists whose tastes and preferences have changed in regards to requiring services for 24 hours, it will be of great importance to learning institutions and work institutions by providing information concerning flexible work arrangements and its impacts on employee performance, providing essential information in response to problems arising from uncertainty caused by flexible work arrangements in the tourism sector, furthermore, this study will assist in formulation and implementation of strategies on policies by management regarding development, retention and sustenance of an organizations’ employees. The researcher used qualitative research approach in order to analyze the data in a more appropriate form. Therefore, a thorough analysis of the findings is done in order to describe and give explanations of the impacts on employee performance resulting from the application of flexible work arrangements within tourism and hospitality establishments. en_US
