dc.description.abstract The general objective of the study was to assess the effect of restructuring of human resource management function to an organization’s performance. A case study of Kisii Bottlers Limited. The study was guided by the following specific objectives: to establish the policy of restructuring human resource management function on Kisii Bottlers performance, to find out the effect of restructuring human resource management function on employees’ attitudes to work performance in Kisii Bottlers Limited and to identify the challenges facing restructuring of human resource management function on performance of Kisii Bottlers Limited.The findings and recommendations of the study may be useful to the policy makers and management administrators who may use the study to design effective Human resource programs geared towards performance improvement and quality service through restructuring human resource management on performance of an organization. The study adopted a descriptive case study design to obtain pertinent and precise information on the current status of the phenomena, situations and groups under study. The study targeted a population of 250 employees and managers of Kisii Bottlers Limited as per the HRD records, (2015). The study used a sample size of 30% of the targeted population as recommended by Gay (1992) who recommends a sample size of 10% to 30% of target population for research. This translated to 75 respondents. The study used questionnaires as the research instrument to collect data. The questionnaires were preferred because they were easily administered and gave reliable data as the respondents were interrupted in any way during the process of filling in the questionnaires. The data was presented by use of frequency tables, percentage and weighted averages. A well compiled data was employed for the purpose of explanation and description of findings which assisted in interpretation. The study found out that; policy of restructuring human resource management function is used to institutionalize and create ownership human resource management restructuring, similarly; policy of restructuring human resource management function is also used by the management to allocate adequate resources to achieve the set target of human resource management restructuring, setting realistic target on human resource management restructuring rather than much objectives attempted at once and providing feedback to employees on human resource management restructuring. Human resource management restructuring on employees’ attitude and work performance enhances performance requirements that define the work in measurable, on the other hand; it also improves performance standards quality, quantity and timelines, instills a sense of accountability in performance of organization in the organization and it also improves performance through delivery of quality and timely services to customers. Resistance from employees on human resource management restructuring is one of the challenges facing human resource management restructuring, similarly; poor policy in implementing human resource management restructuring, lack of proper mindset to human resource management restructuring, poor management on human resource management restructuring and lack of resources to enhance the process of human resource management restructuring are also some of the challenges facing human resource management restructuring. The study recommends that Kisii bottlers limited should involve it’s self in restructuring so as to expect positive results. en_US
