dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of motivation on organizational productivity in banking sector; Equity Bank, Narok branch. The researcher used a questioned trainee and interviews in the data collection, based on this, the researcher made recommendations on improving employee motivation and hence overall organizational productivity in banking sector. The research aimed at improving the effects of employees motivation on organizational productivity in banking sector specifically in Equity Bank, Narok Branch. The objectives of the research were: to establish what specifically motivates employees to perform at their peak? To assess the extent to which motivation impacted employees productivity and to find out how employees responds to different incentives in the workplace. This research was constrained by some limitations which are; information search which is a very tedious exercise, the research was only limited to employees performance in Equity Bank and the productivity level also, gathering information is a costly exercise. The following theories were considered.in this theory which includes the following; incentive theory which denotes that explicit motivation is a result of strong influence from demands of the society as well as normative pressures .the other theory is goal setting theory ,according to Ordoez et al (2009) goals must be specific as well as challenging that requires more effort and input .This has been found to be a major boost to the behavior as well as performance of individuals within an organization. The area of this research was Equity Bank, Narok Branch, the research design used was questionnaires and interviews. The target population of this research was 40 employees working with Equity Bank in Narok . From the population, a sample of 22 employees was selected from which the data was collected. Before the actual collection of data, a pilot study was conducted with employees working with cooperative bank in Narok County. Both qualitative and quantitative data was collected .the data was then presented using tables and bar graphs. en_US
