The impact of ict on procurement process in public sector a case study of narok general hospital

Abstract

The research was about the impact of ICT In the procurement process a case study being general hospital which is located in Narok County. The research will cover the entire procurement process of the general hospital. Since the introduction of the internet in the 1940s, businesses have been slowly adopting to the E-commerce or e-business concepts that uses ICT to facilitate business operations. E procurement is one of the innovations provided for by the internet that has been widely accepted by different sectors worldwide and is therefore not a new concept. This study examined how the supplier attitudes, capacity, transparency and integrity affect their propensity to adopt it. To achieve this objective the study will use primary data which will be from suppliers to general hospitals in Kenya. Through a questionnaire. Pearson’s correlation and regression analysis will be used for the analysis and the tests of significance will be carried out for all variables using t-test at the 95% level of significance. The specific objectives of this research was to determine the impact of ICT adoption in the procurement process of public sector. The target population will consist of all the procurement workers in the general hospital which are 23, the suppliers to the general hospital which are 37, government official who participates in the hospital 10, making a total of 70 of our participants. Questionnaires will be issued to each individual who is among the target population. Sampling will be done and conclusion and recommendation made on how to improve the procurement process.
