Abstract:
This study was done in Maasai Mara university and was aimed at examining the factors affecting the level of undergraduates’ satisfaction in their degree courses and also whether there are in inspired to pursue masters in the same field. Privately sponsored students and government sponsored students were involved. A sample 0f 201 was obtained by using proportional allocation in stratified sampling and data was collected with the aid of questionnaires. STATA software was used for data entry and analysis. Parametric tests performed were t-test, f-test and Pearson chi-square test of association. The variables assumed a linear relationship and the model was significant. It was found out that privately sponsored students have high satisfaction levels as compared to government sponsored students. Satisfaction levels for both genders assumed approximately normal distribution meaning there is no noticeable difference in the satisfaction levels. Students’ inspiration to pursue master’s degree in the same field did not differ for government sponsored students and privately sponsored students. Gender and inspiration to pursue masters showed a slight association.
