Abstract:
Motivation is a term used to describe those processes by which people seek to satisfy the
basic drives, perceived needs, and personal goals which trigger human behavior.It is the
inner force that drives individual to accomplish personal and organizational goals.
Employees were initially considered to be just another input into the production of goods
and services, what changed this way of thinking about employees was research referred
to as Hawthorne studies, conducted by Elton mayo from 1924-1932. Elton mayo has been
described as the founder of human relations movement; those advocates stressed the need
for managerial strategies to ensure concern for people at work was given the higher
priority. This study will establish that employees are not solely motivated by money and
employee behavior is linked to other attributes, in this study will emphasize on the
worker rather than on the work. Main objectives of the study were: to create focus on
objectives, relevant activities, and to remove the attention from non-objectives to relevant
activities, to increase synergy and manage the challenging objectives to create greater
objectives, to create persistence objectives as high objectives extend the effort and tight
deadlines to increase the working pace to motivate employees to use their skills and
knowledge to reach their goals and objectives and to understand the work itself, to
increase employee’s experience, attractiveness, relevance, and significance for their
personal development and well being, to create high concrete objectives as they influence
the performance of the individual employee positively and to strength the motivation and
performance, which is connected the fact that objectives which are set jointly are better
than objectives set by the manager alone. the field survey approach was used in
conducting the required data. The target population of the study consists of fifteen
managers and assistances (15) and thirty seven (37) employees including both men and
women who are all above the ages of 24 years. In carrying out the research judgmental
sampling was used. Written surveys and questionnaires were given to 15 managers and
assistances 37. Employees were queried about work tenure, motivating factors, money,
promotion, discipline, training and recognition. Two types of data can be collected
primary and secondary data.
