Abstract

This research study sought to investigate the impact of Hollywood movies on the lifestyle of students in campus. The researcher used students in Maasai Mara University as the respondents of this research. The research meant to determine the extent to which Hollywood films are affecting the students of Maasai Mara University. The research has also conducted a study on movies where all genres of movies are well discussed. This research has ensured all content contained in movie is well analysed and simplified for easier understanding of its topic to all hence the question about the impact of movie viewing is well provided with remedies which were also gathered from the field where the respondents were the students from Maasai Mara University.The research has used the Uses and Gratification Theory by George Blumler to help understand the research study with ease and have a broad knowledge of why students may be so much attracted to movies.The researcher used an open ended questionnaire to gather the data required for the study and purposive sampling method to get the respondents because the researcher understood the behaviour of the students.The research in deed found that Hollywood movies greatly influenced the lifestyle of the students in campus. This includes; drinking alcohol, smoking, holding parties and bashes and many others discussed in the report
