Abstract:
In this paper, the research was done to look at the effect of growing French beans to the people of Kandara Constituecy in their quest to improve their income. While there has been decline in coffee prices and the farmer minimal pay that cannot meet their daily needs the farmers have turned into French beans growing. It is also part of food security for Kenya and the people in Kandara. Through exporting of French beans the country is able to get revenue. French beans growing is ideal to grow in this area because of the climatic conditions and also the available rivers that are there for irrigation. The research was carried out in Kandara constituency and only 60 farmers were involved. There were questionnaire that were administered also there was interviews and observations as the methods of collecting data. A simple random technique will be used. In chapter four the data was well analyzed so as to justify the objectives and the research questions in chapter. Chapter five presents the findings of the study as well as the recommendations and the conclusion.
