dc.description.abstract The purpose of the study was to determine the causes of HIV/AIDs among youths in Wasio Division. Specific objectives of the study were to examine the impacts of HIV/AIDs on youths in Wasio and to establish the preventive mechanisms of HIV/AIDs among youths in Wasio DIVISOIN. The study looked on the Political, socio-cultural and Economical and religious factors causing HIV/AIDs. The study also looked on the impacts based on the economy of the society. Lastly the study looked on the preventive mechanisms of HIV/AIDs among the Youths in Wasio Division. This was important because youths are the most susceptible to HIV/AIDs, energetic and are required to take up in the next generation. The study used a cross-sectional survey design, qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. The study also used questionnaire and interview guides. A sample size of 150 was selected for the study including parents, Youths/school children, health workers and leaders The study was informed by social learning theory.it states that people learn from one another through observation, imitation and modelling.The theory has been called a bridge behavior and cognitive learning because it encompasses attention, memory and motivation. The key findings of the study was that the majority of the respondents were male and majority of the male fall between 18-35 years of age and majority of them had low level of education. The study also found that poverty was one of the major economic factors causing HIV/AIDs. Multiple sexual partners among the teenagers was one of the major socio-cultural factors causing HIV/AIDs and unprotected sex was one of the major political and religious factors that causes HIV/AIDs. The study also found that overcrowding in the public health sector was the major impact faced by teenagers in accessing medication. The studies also found that majority of the respondents were of the ideas of life skills training in preventing HIV/AIDS among Youths. Main recommendation that study found was that the government should promote the development and adoption of new innovation and approaches in creation of the awareness and the prevention in HIV prevention management. en_US
