dc.description.abstract Rape is a deplorable act that causes mental anguish and even though they may heal physically, the victims carry psychological scars for the rest of their lives. But in Kenya, despite how horrible rape is, it is a crime on the rise. Its effect on victim it is dynamic from physical, psychological and socially. The study sought to find out the measure that the students of Maasai Mara University are employing to prevent rape occurrence. The study utilized descriptive research design to yield both qualitative and quantitative data required to answer research question. It also used Microsoft office excel 2007 to derive its figures and to analyze data. According to the finding was that rape occurrence in Maasai Mara University was 48 percentage and all the students want the institution to put in place strategies that will prevent the rape occurrence. The student recommended that the institution should come up with rape recovery centre for both the rapist and victim to be able to counselor and guide them. en_US
