Abstract:
The determinants that influence implementation of effective testing on learners’ performance have to be taken with a lot of seriousness in order to produce quality education in secondary education. it has been found in the study that there are a lot of determinants that influence effective testing on learners performance. The most prevalence determinants indicator of effective testing on learners performance are how examination are supervised in learners performance, examine how examination are set in learners performance, find out how examination are graded in learners performance and to what extent examination affects quality education in learners performance. The Kenya government has committed itself to develop education and training through sustained allocation of resources. This brings about challenges to effective testing on learners’ performance in secondary schools (MoE, 2014) the government of Kenya has offered to provide free primary education and free secondary education. It has also taken a step to provide free examination at KCPE exams and KCSE examinations. This has helped a lot of students to graduate as form four leaver without many problems. The researcher has given the mixed methods that will be used in the study explaining the research design, locale of the study, target population, sampling procedure, sample size, data collection procedure, piloting, validity and reliability of research instruments that will be able to investigate the determinants that influence implementation of effective testing on learners performance in public secondary schools. The data to carry out the study will be collect4ed from principals, deputy principals, teachers and members of the BOM through the use of questionnaires and interview schedules. The data will alter be analyzed using a statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) where data will be coded analyzed and interpreted using tables, graphs and pie charts. The findings of the study will be highlighted; conclusion and recommendations of the study will be made.
