dc.description.abstract Kenya has aimed at offering the kind of education which can have a positive effect in the personal and social development of its citizens. This will enable them to realise a deeper and more harmonious form of human development thereby reducing poverty exclusim, ignorance, oppression and war. All these have been captured in the policy framework for education in Kenya’s vision 2030, its vision, mission and also in its commission reports since 1964. The Kenyan Educational System, through its policy framework at the time of its formulation sought principally to develop learners (young people) who would take over from today’s generation of adults. The policy, the vision, the mission, vision 2030 and the commission reports display an affection for young people who we need to welcome into society, in the family, in the local/international community to promote personal development, building relationships among individuals group of nations. However, the Education System in Kenya has faced challenges of strengthening co- existence among individuals and ethnic groups; establishing enhanced freedom for personal and group development and realizing true social justice. The learners’ ability to demonstrate any form of…..The objective of this paper therefore, is to contribute through discussion to the dialogue of how peace, freedom and social justice can be achieved and internalised in Kenya’s schools/colleges and universities through promotion of learner oriented initiatives and therefore fostering improvement in individual/group and national relationships for development while at the same time committing to excellence in the attainment of other domains of knowledge and skills. en_US
