dc.description.abstract The contemporary manager is consistently faced by continued market demand and pressure groups to adopt an effective store layout. It is the light of this fact that this study sort to establish the effects of stores layout on the sales volume of business firm. It is specifically sought to involve employees at Tuskys supermarket and the effects of the crowd density, staff training, merchandise display, and centralized approaches on sale volume of a business firm. The study aim to be of significance to; the management of tuskys, Narok Branch, the department of purchasing, the government of Kenya and the future researchers. The study adopted descriptive research as the overall strategy for carrying the study. The study targeted all the 200 employees of tuskys supermarket Narok Branch. consequently the researcher used stratified random sampling to pick 50 respondents to be involved in the study. Questionnaire was used for data collection. The data that collected from the field will be analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative analysis and the finding were presented using tables, pie charts and bar graphs. The finding of the study indicated that majority of the respondents are males in their young and productive age of between 31 to 40 year with adequate education and in experience. The findings also indicated that 74% of the respondents believe that crowd density affects sales volume in a business firm and it was recommended that the organization should consider crowd density in store layout for easy sales in the selection of the best acquisition alternative. Majority of the respondents were of the opinion that training of staff affects stores layout at a high extent and it was recommended that the organization should organize regular training on store layout process. Majority of the respondent also ranked the effect of merchandise display on sale volume as high. It was recommended that the organization should devolve responsibility in the consideration as to effectively display its merchandise in the stores layout. Majority of the respondents believed that Centralized purchasing approaches affects sales volume to a high extent. en_US
