Effect of supply chain management practices on performance of organization: A case study of haco industries limited (Kenya)

Abstract

Effective supply chain management (SCM) has become a potentially valuable way of improving organizational performance since competition i no longer between organizations, but among supply chains. This research conceptualizes and develops four dimensions of SCM practice (supplier partnership, customer relation hip, level of information sharing and postponement) and sought to establish the relationships between these practices and performance of the county governments in Kenya. The objectives of the study were to; find out the effect of supplier partnership relationship examine the effect of customer relationship asses the level of information sharing and examine the effect of postponement on performance of public institutions, with reference to HACO industries limited (Kenya). The study used a descriptive survey design. The target population comprised of the 220 employees of the HACO industries limited (Kenya). The study used simple random sampling to select a sample of 60 employees. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean, frequency and percentages and was presented using tables and charts. The findings of the study are expected to benefit all the players in the supply chain including the suppliers, the buyers and the organizations. It is expected that the public institutions was able to save a lot of money and time after understanding the effects of supply chain management practices on performance of an organization
