dc.description.abstract Good records management will promote efficient and effective public services in ways such as ensuring regulatory compliance, curb graft, minimizing litigation risks, support making of informed decisions by providing timely and sufficient information, promoting accountability among others. The aim of this study was to assess record management practises at the county government with specific references to county headquarters and how records management enhances delivery of good public services. The study was a case study and quantitative in nature and it used questionnaires and interview schedules as instruments of collecting data. The study sample consists of 15 staff who deal with records management of the county who filled the interview schedules while questionnaires which are the key data collection tools were used for the four departments sampled consisting of 25 different staff.Their response was positive in different aspects of service provision ranging from how good records management helps in accountability, corruption reduction, quick response of transactions and helps in time reduction when need of retrieval.Thus the project done brings out how important it is for county governments in Kenya to have good record keeping practices to help its citizens in service delivery. en_US
