The impact of computerized accounting system on service delivery: a case of maasai mara university

Abstract

Use of technology in the service industry lately is as crucial as it is in manufacturing and production industry. Most of institutions which do not undertake physical processes have ventured into using computers and related software’s to improve in their quality of performance more so in financial issues. Therefore, this study presents an investigation of the impact of computerized accounting system on service delivery in Maasai Mara University (MaMU) There were three research objectives to be achieved. The study employed questionnaire and interview schedules for data collection. The study sample consisted of 102 participants made up of 100 fourth year students who were selected using convenient and purposive methods of non-probability sampling and 2 accounts clerk. The descriptive research design for the study was employed. The collected data was analyzed by tabulating the responses as per the research variables and presented in simple frequency tables and graphs. Statistical analysis was done using chi-square statistics. The study found out that CAS has positive impact on service delivery and attracts positive attitude from the users. The findings of the study are not limited to use within MaMU but are also available to any organization or institution with the motive to restructure its way of service delivery to a computerized mode.
