The main purpose of the study was to find out the effects of gender mainstreaming on employee productivity: a case study of Narok county government (NCG). The specific objectives of the study were to find out the effects of gender mainstreaming on employee productivity, to establish the factors affecting gender equality, to identify the challenges to gender mainstreaming facing the management and to find out the strategies to gender mainstreaming in an organization. The study employed survey method as the research design. The study targeted a total population of 500 employees of the organization. The researcher selected a sample size of 50 based on the Mugenda and Mugenda (2003) formula for sample size determination in sampling the respondents; stratified random sampling was used to select employees. The study employed questionnaires to collect data from the respondents. The research instruments were validated before going to the field work. The reliability was determined through pilot testing technique. Data collected will be analyzed using quantitative methodology and analyzed using descriptive statistics. This included frequency distribution, tables, pie charts and graphs. It was hoped that the findings of the study will contribute to knowledge through which challenges to gender mainstreaming and factors affecting gender equally can be overcome to ensure attainment of improved productivity. |
