dc.description.abstract The purpose of the entire study was to establish the role of effective leadership on project performance in Parastatals. The study was carried in Narok Ewaso Ngiro South Development Authority. The study is significant to the management, government, Parastatals institutions, employees, researchers and the community at large. The research objectives that were covered in the entire study were employee motivation, time management, staff engagement and attainment of teamwork. The research design that was used is descriptive research design. The study covered departments within the organization which included management, human resource and support staff. The sampling method that was used is stratified random method following the nature of the population. Data was collected by use of questionnaires which had open and closed questions. Data analysis was done using quantitatively and qualitatively methods. The presentation was done through pie charts, graphs and tables. The conclusions of the researcher are in respect to the information gathered from the findings. The researcher established that leadership influence affects employee motivation, time management, and attainment of teamwork and staff engagement. The level of management was established to be high, time management was established to be attained. Leadership has made teamwork attainment to be highly enhanced while on staff engagement it was established to be high. The management of the organization should ensure that it lays plans that are aimed at motivating the employees. The leadership should build young employees and ensure that it develops employees at all measures. Reward systems should be practiced since they will help the level of morale to increase. Another practice that should be practiced is employee recognition and this will help at rewarding the employees in a better way. Delegation of duties should be practiced so as to ensure that employee motivation is enhanced. Leadership should ensure that the proposed to the concerned parties of the organization to provide all the requirements needed in ensuring that workers are able to manage time as a resource. The top leadership should ensure that it focus on the shortcomings that prevent the completion of the projects in the appropriate time. Coordination of activities should be effective so as to ensure time management. The leaders of the organization should ensure that teamwork is enhanced among the concerned parties. Out of the research it is crucial for the organization to develop effective communication systems in the institution so as to ensure that the attainment of teamwork is build. Staff engagement should be built effectively. The organization should deploy all the necessary training programs aimed at enhancing employee commitment. The researcher all for the organization to cater for the current and future needs of its work. Leadership should gauge the performance of the employees versus the set standard. The workers should be provided with the entire necessary requirements that will help them to carry their task appropriately since this will ensure improvement in performance. The management should train the employees on the new technological developments. en_US
